The COVID-19 Pandemic steals more than home base.

Over the past 8 years, Campus Nation has broadcast games for High-schools, Colleges, and Semi-professional teams; near or far/both small and large. Footage is streamed via our website and YouTube channel to be watched live and is then archived to be enjoyed after the fact.
The next upcoming broadcast on the “books” was The Ohio State University Club Baseball Game on March 21, 2020…until The OSU Athletic Department released a statement suspending all team events “in response to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic”.
Within a week’s time, according to Sports Illustrated all Major sporting events (ranging from Professional, Colleges, and High school level alike) have been postponed, suspended, or even completely cancelled. You can find the current list of “key dates” in sports on CBS Sports.
According to the CDC, “large events and mass gatherings can contribute to the spread of the COVID-19 and introduce the virus into new communities”. They are encouraging the delay or cancellation of highly populated events (sporting events, concerts, festivals, etc.) to slow the rate of outbreaks.
The cancellation of entertainment events surely caused upset across the nation. However, it was merely a tipping point as President Trump “Declared a National State of Emergency” on March 13, 2020 (see more via The Hill). Soon after citizens and small businesses in our local community of Clinton County, Ohio began to feel the impact.
Restaurants can only serve carry-out or delivery. Local grocers have limited store hours for re-stocking and sanitation purposes. All county grade schools have been closed for the foreseeable future. Our local university: Wilmington College, has closed their doors for the Spring semester- which cancels all spring athletic events, closes the dormitories, and classes will be held online.
Campus Nation has felt the affect as well; and halted all remote streams for the time being.
CEO Rick Phillips said: “We regret the temporary interruption of our live sports broadcasts bur encourage fans to go back and revisit some of the over 650 events that we covered over the last eight years. We will resume our remote programming as soon as it is safe to do so. However, we will continue to stream sports related broadcasts from our studio in Jeffersonville, Ohio”.
At this time, Campus Nation urges you to follow the health and safety guidelines set by the CDC in regard to COVID-19. Wash your hands frequently and avoid high volume areas; especially if you are a high-risk citizen.
